We’re hiring · Video editor

Good products. Sharp edits.
Occasional background chaos.

I’m Radu. I manage Amazon advertising for founder-led brands, and I’m looking for a short-form video editor who understands product storytelling, pacing and deadpan comedy.

Two kinds of videos

Help products sell. Make the serious bits funny.

I work from a profit-first approach: every dollar of ad spend has to earn its place. The videos support both the Amazon brands I manage and my own brand.

01 · Amazon brands

Clean, product-focused creative.

Ads and listing videos that show the product clearly, earn attention in the first two seconds and keep the viewer watching. Different hooks, lengths and endings give us useful versions to test.

02 · My own brand

Deadpan delivery. Absurd surroundings.

I explain Amazon ads completely seriously while something increasingly ridiculous happens around me. Nobody acknowledges it. Your cuts, pauses and sound design make the joke land.

Think documentary-style investigations, hard cuts and carefully held silences.

What you’ll make

  • Short-form videos, mostly 10–60 seconds and mostly vertical, using client footage and our shared content library.
  • Edits built from clear, visual briefs, themes, references and notes on what has worked before.
  • Captions, on-screen text, sound effects, simple motion graphics, thumbnails and cover frames.
  • Several versions of a video with different hooks, lengths or endings for performance testing.

Timing does the work.

Jump cuts, J and L cuts, match cuts, smash cuts, cuts on action, speed ramps and well-timed silence. For comedy, a held pause can do more than another effect. For product ads, the edit should keep the product and message clear.

What I’m looking for

  • Fluent Romanian, Spanish or English. I can give direction in your preferred language.
  • A short-form portfolio: Reels, TikTok, Shorts or ads.
  • A strong sense of pacing and comedy, with a hook in the first two seconds.
  • Reliable turnaround and openness to feedback and revisions.

Extra useful

Amazon, e-commerce or product-ad experience; original ideas you can take from concept to final cut; and an eye for recurring series.

AI video and image skills are a plus. Familiarity with tools such as InVideo AI (invideo.ai) is especially useful, as is combining Higgsfield with ChatGPT image generation or Qwen to create scenes, props and b-roll we never filmed.

The practical details

Pay
Paid per finished video, with the rate based on length and complexity. Thumbnails are paid separately.
Idea bonus
Pitch an original idea, get it approved and produce it: you earn a bonus on top of the video rate.
Schedule
We usually have a short weekday check-in between 8–10 am Eastern Time (New York). Some days may require more than two hours of availability for collaboration, including time outside that window. The rest of your editing schedule is flexible.
Tools
Use what works for you. CapCut is fine. No required editing software.
Getting started
One small paid test video using footage from our library. If it goes well, regular work begins right away.

Show me your work.

Three videos and a few sentences about your approach are enough to start. The first editing test is paid.

  1. Share three short videos you edited, ideally including one that’s funny.
  2. Describe one idea: a calm, serious guy explaining Amazon ads while something absurd happens around him. You don’t need to make it.
  3. Tell me which editing and AI tools you use.

Applications go directly to Radu. You’ll hear back by email if there’s a fit for the paid test.

A website, Vimeo, YouTube or shared portfolio link is welcome. Make sure I can open it.

PDF, DOC or DOCX. Maximum 5 MB. A résumé is optional; your portfolio is what matters most. Share videos as links.

Include the amount, currency and typical video length. You can add a separate thumbnail rate.

Your details, portfolio links and résumé are used to review your application. Submissions are stored by Netlify and emailed to Radu. Application privacy.
